You could divide a piece of property by simply measuring it with a tape measure, drawing a “map” and giving the measurements to an attorney who would prepare the deed. You could also buy nice vacant land for $50 an acre. Things have changed, and the real estate business has gotten more complicated, but I still love it. I spent 4 years in the Salem State Repertory Dance Theatre rounding out 20 years of dance experience. While still in my last year of college with one class to go, I got a job as summer intern at OSRAM Sylvania in Danvers, Massachusetts. I became a packaging graphic designer for all different types of light bulb packaging. A summer internship quickly turned into 10 years at the company! In 2012, my husband and I decided to make the move from Boston to Daytona Beach to be closer to his family, and of course, the ocean! I worked for a short time as a contractor for an educational catalog company creating various toy catalogs for different stores around the U.S. In 2013 I was hired as a graphic designer for the production of a drug prevention curriculum. When the project ended two years later, I made the switch to the in-house print shop of EXIT REPS, assisting our agents in all of their marketing needs. He has worked extensively with National Guard leadership and members, training them on the fundamentals of substance abuse prevention and education of a youth population. Scott is fluent in grant writing and government contracts and has received awards ranging from $50K to $4.6M over 20 years of applications. Over his career, he has been responsible for the receipt and management of more than 30 million dollars in government grants and contracts, overseeing the national implementation of several public safety education and implementation programs. With each, he further developed his skills in the measurement and reporting of reach and result to prove value to his grant underwriters. Ready for a new challenge, Scott returned to the private sector in 2013, when he formed EXIT Real Estate Property Solutions. Scott had been a Realtor from 1986 thru 1990, when he held a real estate license in Virginia, working for Town and Country Realty until moving to Florida to attend Embry Riddle. While this path took him away from real estate for a time, his wife Gina had found her passion and success in the field, and he was ready to join her. Scott purchased the most noticeable building on the busiest street in New Smyrna, Flagler Avenue, and they opened the doors in January 2014. In June of 2014, Scott was recruited to the board of the Flagler Avenue Business Association (FABA) and was elected President.
